Disavow is a term that refers to reporting to a search engine to not recognise certain backlinks to your website.
If your backlink profile includes a high number of spammy, artificial, or low-quality inbound links that may be harming your rankings – and don’t have the ability to get them removed for a legitimate reason (e.g., the link exists on a site you have no control over) – you can use Google’s Disavow Tool (via the Google Search Console) tool to tell Google to ignore those links.
