Above The Fold: An Explanation
Above the fold is any content i.e. images, text, videos that appears on a website before the user scrolls any further down.
It is the area of a web page which is visible to a visitor before scrolling down.
The content appearing in the above-the-fold area is considered to be pivotable in the visitor’s decision whether to remain on the page, scroll down or exit the page (which might explain high bounce rates!).
Simba Explains Above The Fold
Above the fold is the first thing a web visitor sees when they visit your website or mobile app. And if first-impressions matter, then above-the-fold is your window of opportunity to make the first impressions count.

Above-the-fold is like a welcome sign – some welcome signs reassure you that you are in the right place, and some are just off-putting.
